These are some serious trousers. Designed to be worn on only the coldest most blustery watches aboard US Navy ships in the 1960s. The A-2 Deck Trousers are the lower –– & oft forgotten –– components of the navy's cold and foul weather "deck uniform" (as in standing watch on deck). With that in mind, the A-2 Deck Trousers are features many of the same construction and design details as the A-2 Deck Jacket from the olive green cotton shell to the metal and webbing adjusting buckles to keep the wind out.
These trousers are fully lined with acrylic pile –– as is the A-2 Deck Jacket –– which replaced the era alpaca wool linings of the 1940s. They also feature rope side loops for threading into suspenders of lower trousers and belt loops that were designed to align with loops on upper outerwear keeping it in place and the wind out. The zip fly is outfitted with a chunky Talon brass pull, making it easy to unzip while wearing heavy gloves. Two front patch pockets and one back left button flapped pockets rounds them out.
Designed as over trousers these come in sizes S-XL. These are also thick, lined trousers meaning you will need extra inches to fit than you are used to. Consult the size chart and size up or down depending on if you plan to wear them alone or over other trousers. Cold wash, hang dry.
